Google Research's VERID blocks impossible robot commands as its lab agents reach 33.5% and 42.1% aptamer hit rates
Google Research published a blog post on Oct 16 describing three projects that bring AI agents into the wet lab, led by research scientist Annalisa Pawlosky. VERID is a semantic digital twin of the lab workcell that dry-runs and validates every agent-written protocol before it reaches a liquid-handling robot, and agents in an aptamer campaign reached confirmed on-target hit rates of 33.5% on myoglobin and 42.1% on alpha-thrombin after three rounds.
