Toyota will build autonomous bZ4X SUVs with Waymo's hardware at its Takaoka plant, starting tests in Japan in 2027 and moving to the UK later. The same model is already Pony.ai's robotaxi in China, so Toyota is supplying the car to more than one self-driving company.
