Agility names Nyobolt as Digit 5 battery partner, targets 10:1 run-to-charge
Agility Robotics selected Nyobolt, a Cambridge, UK battery company, as the fast-charging battery partner for Digit 5, citing a 90-minute runtime on a 9-minute charge, or 10:1, against Digit 4's 2:1. Early access is set for H1 2027.
Agility Robotics named Nyobolt, a Cambridge, UK battery company, as the fast-charging battery technology partner for Digit 5, its humanoid robot. Agility says the pack runs 90 minutes and recharges in 9 minutes, a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio against Digit 4's 2:1.
Agility is now selling Digit 5 on uptime math: the more of a day each robot spends working, the fewer robots a customer has to buy. Chief business officer Daniel Diez said "for our customers, Digit's uptime is the business case," and Agility claims Digit 5 will do more than 20 hours of productive work in a 24-hour day, more than two full shifts. Nyobolt CEO Sai Shivareddy said the robot needed more power from a smaller, lighter pack. Agility, based in Salem, Oregon, says earlier Digit robots have logged more than 65,000 hours of real-world operation; Digit 5, unveiled last month, has not yet shipped with the Nyobolt pack, so the 20-hour figure is still a company target.
Early access begins in H1 2027, with availability widening over the following six to nine months for manufacturing, warehouse and distribution work.
